Taylor Morris grew up as a thrill seeker with a passion for extreme sports, with the ability to stay calm under intense pressure.
So when he joined the Navy, he naturally gravitated towards the toughest challenges out there, focusing his passion into becoming an Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician.
In early 2012, Taylor found himself working with Army Special Forces when an IED detonated underneath him. Both of his arms and both of his legs were blown off in the explosion.
Despite prolific bleeding, Taylor told the medics not to come to him for fear there were more IEDs in the area.
After the area was cleared, Taylor was medevaced out and became one of the few to survive a quadruple amputation.
While many would be mentally destroyed after similar trauma, Taylor’s unbridled optimism is truly amazing.
