A company called Ideal Conceal is has stirred up a hornet’s nest with what it believes is the next level of concealed carry – a handgun that conceals as a faux cell-phone.

The double-barrel .380 pistol comes equipped with a laser sight to make those two shots count. The company says the phone will “easily blend in with today’s environment”, allowing you to carry and no one will know it.

“The ground breaking Ideal Conceal is a carefully engineered double barrelled .380 caliber people can safely carry in their purse or clipped to their side

“Ingeniously designed to resemble a smartphone, yet with one click of the safety it opens and is ready to fire.”

But already, the device has forced some strange bedfellows in opposition. An odd assortment of anti-gun advocates and law enforcement officers have cited concerns about the weapon.

For their part, Ideal Carry reminds people that it’s not the weapon that causes damage, but the person using the weapon. That’s too complicated for most anti-gun advocates.

Gross). When he's not writing he's celebrating the resurgence of his beloved Florida Gators and New York Mets.
