As Obama nears the end of his eighth year in office, race relations in the U.S. continue to degrade. The latest episode in this tragic downward spiral comes from Temple University, where roaming “flash mobs” are now attacking students and police.
The mob behaviors on Temple’s campus began this week, and the victims of their attacks appear to have been chosen at random. There’s only one thing that ties them to each other: race. The victims are all white. Their attackers are black.

According to Police reports, Temple students were mobbed, punched, kicked, robbed in the attacks from Friday night.
Witnesses said there were packs of roving teenagers, some with as many as 100 people, who came onto campus from the surrounding communities in Philadelphia. The attacks lasted began at 8pm and continued for two hours.
At least six students were injured. A member of the university’s police force was also injured when he was overwhelmed. When police brought in mounted officers, the mobs even attacked the horses.
Joe Lauletta’s daughter was badly beaten when the group that attacked her help her down and stomped on her face. Christina Lauletta’s attackers fled when employees from a pizza restaurant came to her aid and broke up the gathered crowd.
“[She] and her 2 male friends where badly beaten by a group of 30-40 black teenagers on their way home from the Temple football game.”
“This happened after they got off the subway at Broad and Cecil B Moore. These sick animals held her down and kicked and stomped on her repeatedly. Thank god, the people from the pizza place intervened. They arrested 2 people at the scene.”
Temple spokesman Ray Betzner said the mobs played a “cat-and-mouse game” with authorities.
The woman pictured above was also attacked. She posted images to social media, but her identity is not known.
Motive for the attack seems unclear. Some speculate that the attacks were not planned, though the sheer numbers of people who arrived–all at the same time–indicates some had been coordinated.
As Joe Lauletta noted in closing: “If you have children at Temple, tell them to be careful. Please keep Christina Lauletta in your thoughts.”
