When terrorists were hiding from American Rangers inside a walled compound, Apache pilots came in to help, but not in the normal way. After the Rangers first grenade throw missed, the pilots step in, using their “eye in the sky” to help the ground pounders make that critical hit.
“More to the left… about 8 meters to the left,” the flight crew can be heard telling the Rangers on the ground.
Knowledge is half the battle and, armed with that knowledge, the Rangers execute the other half with a perfect grenade toss.
The throw was so perfect, it elicited an “Whoa! Shit! That looked like it was spot on” from the Apache crew.
