ISIS has just executed another 25 people accused of spying and the method in which they carried out the execution is perhaps the most horrific to date. Reports indicate that the 25 people were killed by being lowered into a vat of acid and slowly dissolved while still alive.
According to a report by the Daily Mail:
The men had been accused of spying on ISIS on behalf of Iraqi government security forces.
According to witnesses, the 25 alleged ‘spies’ had been tied together with a rope and lowered in a large basin containing nitric acid until their organs dissolved.

While some resulting nitro compounds are shock- and thermally-sensitive explosives, a few are stable enough to be used in munitions and demolition, while others are still more stable and used as pigments in inks and dyes. Nitric acid is also commonly used as a strong oxidizing agent.
Nitric acid is a corrosive acid and a powerful oxidizing agent. The major hazard posed by it is chemical burns as it carries out acid hydrolysis with proteins (amide) and fats (ester) which consequently decomposes living tissue (e.g. skin and flesh).
This is just the latest execution carried out by ISIS which has come up with a multitude of disturbing ways to kill their opposition.
