According to reports, Haywood jumped the fence to the model’s home and came in contact with the security guard whose name has not been disclosed.
Haywood grabbed the security guard’s knife and slashed at the guard. The guard was stabbed in the arm and cut under his eye. The LA County Sheriff’s Office said the guard then retaliated, shooting Haywood four times.
A grim photo showed the security guard kneeling on top of Haywood who is covered in blood on his head and torso. “Neither the guard nor the intruder has life-threatening injuries,” a police spokesman said.
The Victoria Secret model who lives with her five-year-old son Flynn in the Malibu home was not home at the time of the incident.
Sergeant James Braden said, “There were no occupants in the house at the time of this incident. The incident took place on the property, but not inside the house.”
This is not the first time Kerr has been targeted. When Kerr was married to Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, she was targeted by the “Bling Ring,” a group that robbed several celebrities.
Journalist Nancy Jo Sales wrote a book about the Bling Ring, explaining that they stole Kerr’s lingerie because they were obsessed with fame and wanted to look sexy.
Haywood was arraigned on Tuesday at the LA County Superior Court in Van Nuys, California. According to the LA County District Attorney’s Office, Haywood could be sentenced to life in prison for his aggressive attack on the security guard.
Haywood is also facing two additional felonies including aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon.
