Do you live in one of the most or least patriotic states in the nation? The folks over at Movoto want to help you find out.

They did a study to determine which states were the most “patriotic”. They used a variety of factors to determine the level of patriotism for each state including:

  • Veterans per capita
  • Veterans funding
  • National historic landmarks per capita
  • Percent of residents who voted in the 2012 presidential election
  • Number of residents who Google for American flags to buy
  • Number of residents who list America as an interest on Facebook

Here are their findings on the most patriotic states to least patriot states listed in numerical order.

The top five most patriotic states are South Carolina, Maine, North Carolina, Wyoming, and Virginia (respectively).

The least patriotic states ended up being California, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Hawaii.
