Comedian Bill Maher is catching heat from liberals for speaking the truth about Muslim values.

During the season finale of Real Time with Bill Maher, the host used his podium to point out that, contrary to the liberal dream that Muslims just need a hug, there is simply no equating the support of barbaric ideas throughout the Muslim world with civilized Western values:

“Fifty-six percent of Americans believe that the Syrian refugees… their values are at odds with our values. That may not be wrong,” said Maher. “If you are in this religion, you probably do have values that are at odds. This is what liberals do not want to recognize. You may be from a country—as there are many, many Muslim countries—that either have Sharia law or want Sharia law. Those values are not our values.”

Maher goes on to quote British Prime Minister David Cameron, “The root cause of the threat we face is the extremist ideology itself. Let’s not forget our strongest weapon: our own liberal values.”

Maher then continues: “[Cameron] talks about the horrors of forced marriage; he talks about how the utter brutality of female genital mutilation is too common in his country with nearly 4,000 cases, and that’s just the reported cases; 11,000 cases of honor-based violence. I’m not saying this is going to happen in America, but this idea that somehow we do share values, that all religions are alike, is bullshit. And we need to call it bullshit.”

Then, Canadian Member of Parliament Chrysta Freeland responded with a staggering comment about how we should respond to the Paris terror attacks.

“I think it’s incredibly important, particularly now – after the paris attacks. Particularly now – with ISIL raging around the world to stand up for real diversity. And to say our diversity is our strength.” Chrysta Freeland, Canadian MP

That lead Maher and his guests to discuss poll numbers about the percentage of people who support ISIS, with Turkey weighing in at a whopping 8 percent of citizens having a positive view of the fundamentalist pseudo-state.

“Six million people [in Turkey] agree with ISIS, and you’re telling me it’s the same as our culture?” Maher exclaimed, incredulously.

About Hunter Roosevelt

Hunter's political beliefs are always evolving. Not really. He can be seen supporting whichever side has the hotter women so it's almost always the conservative side (have you seen the hippy chicks? Gross). When he's not writing he's celebrating the resurgence of his beloved Florida Gators and New York Mets.
