Researchers at Vocativ have compiled some data on what exactly those popular Android apps that many people use everyday might be able to actually access on your phone.

You might be surprised to learn that some of your favorite apps can access your location, your call logs and even turn on the microphone on your phone.

Here is a partial list of some of the worst “offenders”. Note that Facebook, one of the most popular apps in the world, can access virtually all personal information on your phone (image via Vocativ).

Despite the fact that when you install an app Android generally tells you what it can access most people are still surprised to learn about the level of access most apps have.

Perhaps more disturbing is that many apps targeted to young children are some of the worst offenders when it comes to accessing too much data. For instance, the popular children’s game Happy Fish has access to your text messages, GPS location and even your personal photos.
