A woman laid down to watch some Netflix on her laptop with her boyfriend. However, their nice peaceful night was interrupted when she received a Facebook with a photo attached.

The photo showed the couple laying in front of the computer just a short time before. The message from a Facebook account named Mahmoud Abdo was accompanied with a message that said “realy [sic],cute couple”.

According to statements the couple made to Good Housekeeping:

“We obviously had no idea it was taking place in the moment, but retroactively it was like a really, really deeply creepy feeling,” the 27-year-old told Newstalk1010. “It was very unnerving. I mean it does feel like there’s someone just in your home with you.”

The couple notified police who are currently analyzing the computer for evidence.

It’s estimated that tens of thousands of web cams, nanny cams, and security cameras have already been compromised and may be transmitting private moments from their home for the entire web to see.

If you’re going to use one of these cameras you should take a few basic precautions.

1.) Change the default password on the camera to something complex and hard to guess.
2.) Make sure your home network is secured.
3.) Disconnect the camera when not actively being used to help prevent it from being discovered and compromised.
4.) Use a non internet connected baby monitoring solution.
5.) Cover web connected cameras that are not currently being used with opaque tape.

About Reagan Wilson

Reagan enjoys all things political. After realizing that neither of the current mainstream political parties encompass his beliefs he awaits the emergence of a true small government party. Good scotch, good cigars, mechanical watches, and SEC football round out his interests.
