Earlier this week volunteer firefighter Aaron Van Riper of Huntsville, TX responded to a car accident call. When he arrived on scene, he was shocked to find out that the victims were his own wife and son.
Aaron’s wife was thrown from the vehicle while his son was pinned inside of it.
Rescue workers, included Aaron, moved to stabilize the victims, but they both had fairly severe injuries. Aaron’s son was treated and released, but his wife had to have a nine hour surgery for a broken pelvis.
The Van Ripers don’t have health insurance, so a family friend setup a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the medical bills.
When she woke up, she saw something amazing.
Music superstar Taylor Swift had apparently donated $15,000 to the campaign. Sources close to Swift confirmed the donation was legit to BuzzFeed earlier today.
Swift is well known for her very personal charitable acts. Swift will regularly send fans care packages and make donations to individuals in need. She also called the family of a fallen Marine in 2013 to offer her condolences and sent them flowers with a handwritten note that read:
“Wade, thank you for loving my music. I won’t forget it, and I will never forget you. All my love, Taylor Swift.”
She then wore his dog tags in her next music video as tribute to the young Marine.
