UPDATE: Matthew James is actually alive and miraculously recovering after suffering three close range gunshot wounds from an AK47, including one to his chest. James also suffered a heart attack shortly after being shot.
Matthew James, from Cardiff, England, has been named as one of the victims in the ISIS terror attacks in Tunisia earlier today that primarily targeted western tourists.
James is being called a hero after his fiancee, Sarea Wilson, told the story of how he took several bullets so she could survive and
with his dying breath told her to pass on his love to their children.
According to the Daily Mail:
She said, despite being covered in blood from the attack, he told her to run away, adding ‘tell our children that their daddy loves them.’
She said: ‘He took a bullet for me. I owe him my life because he threw himself in front of me when the shooting started.
‘He was covered in blood from the shots but he just told me to run away.
‘He told me: ‘I love you babe. But just go – tell our children that their daddy loves them.’
Attacks were carried out nearly simultaneously in France, Tunisia and Kuwait. The attacks almost exclusively targeted westerners and Shia Muslims (ISIS is primarily made up of Sunni Muslims).
