Twenty-one year old Joseph Offutt, who plans to join the military, has started a movement in Texas that is going strong a week after the attempted ISIS attack in Garland, Texas.
When Offutt saw that ISIS was claiming credit for the Garland, Texas attack that injured one security guard he immediately took action to send a message to the terror group.
He grabbed his large American flag off his wall and stood outside the scene of the shooting all day. As they day went on, others joined him, bringing their own flags to the scene.
Offutt saw the potential power in their message and has returned to the scene each day. Holding the American flag up, all day, and waving to passing motorists. New people continue to come to the scene each day and stand with Offutt as long as they are able.
Just a couple of hours ago, Offutt posted the following on his Facebook page as he prepares to go out for the eighth day.
In addition to his flag Offutt held a sign simply stating – “Don’t be afraid, we are America.”
Well done sir.
