It was fairly widely reported that Donald Trump was set to begin a civil trial after being accused of raping an unnamed plaintiff when she just thirteen years old. Well, earlier this week, that civil case was suddenly and abruptly dropped just days before the election. Now, it appears we have some reasons on why.

According to the Daily Mail report they have received information about the case that apparently shows the claims are simply not true:

But has learned that the real reason the suit was dropped is because the claims were simply NOT true.

The woman first sued Trump and Jeffrey Epstein under the name Katie Johnson – a name we know not to be her real identity – on April 26 in California federal court and filed an amended complaint in New York federal court in October, claiming she was subject to rape, criminal sexual acts, assault, battery and false imprisonment.

A source with knowledge of the controversial case told “Katie Johnson’s account had been believable and compelling right up until the last minute.”

But new information emerged that suggested she had not been telling the truth.

“Ultimately it was discovered that Donald Trump’s name had been inserted into this, he was not involved whatsoever. After that she had no credibility.”

Allegedly, court documents “offered no corroborative evidence that her claims were true.”

Several media outlets and reporters were quick to point out holes in the story and question it.

While others ran the story without too much fact checking:

About Reagan Wilson

Reagan enjoys all things political. After realizing that neither of the current mainstream political parties encompass his beliefs he awaits the emergence of a true small government party. Good scotch, good cigars, mechanical watches, and SEC football round out his interests.
