You have to love hypocrites. And here’s one for the ages. An adjunct professor at Southern State Community College (SSCC) in Ohio doesn’t like guns. He’s had enough of gun violence, too. So what does he do? He advocates shooting up the headquarters of the NRA.
You could forgive James Pearce’s logical skills. He’s only an adjunct professor. He’s not even full-time faculty at the Community College. Still, you would think that–as a professor–he could think through the logical implications of his invocation of violence.
Here’s his call to action, from his Facebook post following the Orlando shootings:
“Look, there’s only one solution. A bunch of us anti-gun types are going to have to arm ourselves, storm the NRA headquarters in Fairfax, VA, and make sure there are no survivors. This action might also require coordinated hits at remote sites, like Washington lobbyists. Then and only then will we see some legislative action on assault weapons. Have a nice day.”
Look. I’m opposed to anyone starting a sentence with look. As if I’m not looking. It is like a college roommate I had who began every sentence that he knew I wouldn’t like with the word “listen.” But I digress.
Check out that hatband. I hope he wears this hat when he storms the castle.
Pearce’s comments were forwarded along to authorities and administration of SSCC. Authorities are investigating, and SCC offered this platitude: “Certainly any criminal prosecution and findings could be a consideration for employment decisions.”
Kris Cross, Director of Public Relations at SSCC, said “it is the college’s policy not to comment on individual personnel matters.”
That’s understandable. There’s not a lot to say in Pearce’s defense.
“In general, the college would alert local authorities about any threats that were made known to the college, especially any threats made to students, faculty or staff,” Cross added. “We have a good working relationship with the police jurisdictions covering each of our four campuses, and trust they would follow their protocols for reporting to other agencies. As I understand it, a report does not necessarily mean an investigation.”
SSCC is getting some unwanted attention, too. As if Pearce’s tirade wasn’t enough, they got spanked by the feds. The Attorney General advised the president of the college not to take any actions until everyone had the FBI and Homeland Security had finished up their investigations.
Should anyone mention to Pearce that it isn’t really the NRA that’s doing the shooting? The NRA remains the whipping boy for the political left, but–and this is just my opinion–I don’t think the Orlando nightclub shooting had much to do with the NRA.
As for a bunch of pansy-ass community college adjuncts tooling up and storming the headquarters of the NRA…. How well do you think that’s going to go for the professors?
